What a day! The sun was shining, the quality of the rugby intense and the generosity of all attending was brilliant.
The Hove Vets hosted a mini festival with Haywards Heath and a combined Crawley/St Francis attending, with the aim of raising some funds for Noah Rees’ rehabilitation. The Vets team kindly started with £250, followed by many more individual donations and collections, resulting in a total of over £1,000.
On the field HH won both their matches, despite some stubborn resistance from Hove Vets, who beat the combined Crawley/St Francis. It must be noted both guest teams arrived with 15/16 players and were supplemented in all matches by Hove Vets who had 26 players available which was a great effort by all.
A final thanks to everyone who cheered the teams, the players attending, HRFC clubhouse team & of course the referees. rugby ‘values’ were clearly exhibited.
