Welcome to Hove U9’s. Our aim at Hove U9’s is to ensure every player develops their rugby skills and overall confidence whilst having some fun and making some mates.
We coach in line with the RFU’s Age Grade Rugby which is based on the principles of player centred, development driven and competition supported. The wants and needs of young people will be at its heart. It will put player enjoyment above all else to keep more young people enjoying the game for longer and into their adult years.
This year, the U9’s will continue with their rugby development as the team once again increases in size to 7 players and the tags are cast aside as tackling is introduced. The pitch size increases to 60m x 30m but the laws remain broadly the same as the U8s.
If your child turned 8 years old before 31 August 2018, we would love to see them down at Hove RFC U9s for some great rugby. Our ethos is to introduce the children, both boys and girls, to how much fun rugby can really be.
The team trains on Sundays at Hove Rec between 10:00-12:00. Click here to see a pitch map of Hove RFC a where we train.
We are a club run totally by parent volunteers. Helping out is a very rewarding way to spend a Sunday morning and we are always looking for more parents to help with our age group caching/administration/communication. If you would like to get involved please let one one us know.
