Hove make a few changes after last weeks disappointing performance away at Crawley.
In the front row Alex Maguire comes in, George Brown and Ben Stephens form a new second row pairing. At the rear of the scrum, Louis Medhurst, Ollie Noel and Luke Buckton Taylor all come in to make up a formidable back row.
Unfortunately Danny O’Connor has been in a bike accident so is unable to play this week, we wish Danny a speedy recovery.
His replacement is Archie Davies who steps into scrum half pairing up with his brother George at 10. Jake Butler comes in at 13 with Tom Christie shifting to the wing. Alejo Parraga, James Duckett and Ash Parker make up the replacements.
Easy Grinstead will be a well drilled side and there is a particular edge to this game with Matt Ratana (a former Hove coach) now coaching at EG. In a week where Eddie Jones and Steve Hansen have traded jibes in the media, head coach Sandy Robertson had this to say “we are no doubt the underdogs in this game, the pressure is all on East Grinstead to perform away from home, we will just focus on ourselves and look to put in an improved performance on last week, I’m sure Matt has a few tricks up his sleeve having coached Hove before but we know him well too, it should be a great game”.
Captain Johnny OW, or Big John as he now known, is well aware of the challenge ahead on Saturday “we didn’t get on the right side of the ref last week, it’s so important that we keep our discipline and just focus on our game, we have to start making the most of our opportunities as well, that’s something we have worked on in training”.
Kick off is 3pm at the rec.
