Hove 2s continue their season back in Sussex One with a tough looking fixture at Crawley, one of the early pace-setters in the league.
Hove name a strong line-up, as we welcome back Adrian Shergold (lock) and Guy Patton (wing) from Japan (both as tourists, not on active duty), while James Buckley (hooker) and regular first team captain Martin MacDonald (number 8) get their first taste of league action this season on their returns from injury.
Carl Pittaway continues at loosehead in his return season at Hove, with Timmie Barnett returning to the second team this week at tighthead. Ben Stephens partners Adi at lock, with Tom Watson and Ben Anderson completing a strong looking forward pack on the flanks.
Danny O'Connor and vice-captain George Davies continue their growing partnership at half-back while Johnny Orme-Williams leads the side from 12. Tom Christie partners Johnny in the centres, with Tom Holborn and Jack Moore joining Guy in the back 3.
Alejo Parraga has recovered from his World Cup heartbreak to take his place in the squad with Lee Sattin, Harry Carton, Jake Butler and Archie Davies also named.
Captain Johnny Orme-Williams said: "This game represents a huge turning point for the rest of our season. We are coming off the back of a disappointing loss to a very beatable Hellingly side, who in spite of their far superior strength up front were allowed to control the game through our poor discipline and lack of ferocity up front. My aim is to help the team control these facets of our game and with the quality we have in the side hopefully bring home a commanding win."
Kick off is at 3pm at Crawley RFC.
