Another week where the weather disrupted the rugby, with frozen pitches all games were off at Hove. This means we have rearranged dates for the games with the men’s first away to Trinity on the 25th January, and we host East Grinstead on the 8th February. The beefs game at Seaford did go ahead with Seaford winning 43 – 13.

With warmer and drier weather this week we hope to return to playing. The men’s first team are away at Cobham and the Beef play Shoreham away. On Sunday the women are away at Hammersmith and Fulham.

On Saturday 25th the women are playing at home and there will be a club lunch as we look forward to being a host city for the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Main course is chicken breast wrapped in bacon or stuffed aubergine with mash and green veg. Followed by either Biscoff vanilla cheesecake or a cheeseboard for £15, children’s meal of chicken nuggets & chips followed by ice cream for £6. Several of our U18s were selected to represent Sussex over the past few weeks, on 5th Jan Axl Williams and George Rawlingson played #9 & #11 respectively and Elsie, Williams, Devon Smith, Franceska Silsby, Marnie Cameron and Romily James were all selected for the squad for a game on the 12th. Congratulations to them all.

There is a lot of lost property at the club, this will be on display in the entry hall for the next two weeks so you can check to see if that is where that rugby shirt vanished to. All items remaining after that time will be disposed of.
