Beautiful chilly day of Rugby
U18 girls v Havant
The best way to warm up a cold but very sunny Sunday? Simple........ with a cracking game of rugby.
A combined Hove/Worthing U18 girls team played Havant at the Rec today and gave all the coaches, parents and supporters a fantastic display of attacking rugby. With no quarter given or asked, both teams began the game at a blistering pace that continued throughout the whole game. Havant scored first inside the first couple of minutes but Hove were quick to reply with two quick scores and the game continued to ebb and flow, both teams determined to play out and out attacking. The first half disappeared in a flash such was the entertaining nature of the game and Hove took a slender 22 -21 lead.
The second half continued in the same fast paced way with the teams trading scores and swapping the lead every few minutes, despite the best efforts of both defenses who put in some huge hits and pressured the attacking side. In the dying seconds Hove scored again to bring the score to 46 - 44 to Havant with the conversion to be taken but it wasnt to be with the kick going narrowly wide and the full time whistle going.
An epic display of high quality, competitive, attacking rugby on display today, both teams giving a 110% to the final whistle. A spectacular treat for all those involved and those lucky enough to watch. Well done girls, what a game.
