Hove make six changes to the team that beat Deal last week

Squad News

Hove have made six changes to the team that beat Deal & Betteshanger last week, due to a mix of injury and unavailability. Kyle Woollard, Jack Silcocks, Nick Paddenburg, Sam Bath, Reece Cavozzi and Rob Biggs all come into the team.

Match Preview

Pulborough came up last year from London 3 South East, winning that league by a single point over Haywards Heath. They're a club on the rise and have put together a strong squad. They suffered a heavy defeat to Beckenham last week but Beckenham have always been a strong team. Hove will be hoping to hit them with their high-tempo game while Pulborough are still trying to find their feet in this league.

As with any local derby, any concept of form gets thrown out the window and it promises to be an entertaining clash between the Sussex rivals. Pulborough's Head Coach, Clayton Saunders, is a former Hove player and coach and I'm sure he'll be looking to pick up a win against his old club!

Player to Watch

Ryan Morlen has featured for Hove for a number of seasons and his attacking threat from the centres has been a huge hindrance for teams. With regular captain Sam Whiting out, Ryan takes the captain's mantle. Of course, captaincy isn't a new thing for him - Ryan was captain of the Sussex team in last year's County Championship that made it to the final at Twickenham where they drew 29-29 with Oxfordshire but lost on number of tries scored. With a number of changes in the backline today, it will be interesting to see how they gel and a lot of that will come down to the leadership that Ryan brings.
