Mystic Geoff's Musings for this todays London 2 South East fixtures.

The trip to Medway turned out as expected from a results perspective. However the performance by Hove was excellent, heads didn’t go down as is proved by the fact that we outscored them in the second half.

I’ve never been to Medway before and can report they are a nice if noisy bunch of people. That must be the reason that players from the Pacific Islands choose to live in a flat over the changing rooms of a rugby club in Chatham.

Medway go to Horsham this weekend and I assume they will win. The league needs to be read taking into account whether Medway have been played in the current half of the season. I think they will win virtually every game.

Beckenham who are second are away at fifth placed Dartfordians. I expect both teams to be in the mix for second place as the season progresses. The result of this game will tell us how good Beckenham are.

Old Colfs, currently third, are away to Heathfield and I will be very surprised with anything other than an Old Colf victory. Last season both games between Hove and Old Colfs were tight with the home team winning each time. The Old Colf performances should be a good way to judge ourselves.

Old Alleynians, just behind us in 8th place visit Deal. Another interesting game, which I think, will go to the home team. There is some history of teams from East Kent being scarier at home than away. In fact during the current discussions on changing the League structure below us I am surprised it hasn’t been suggested that Deal, Dover and Thanet shouldn’t join the Northern French clubs. I suspect Calais may be closer to Deal than clubs in West Sussex.

Lastly to our game today against Crowborough who have just one losing bonus this season. If we play anything like we did against Medway Hove should have a good afternoon. Try bonus maybe?
