On Sunday 1st January 1984 a legend was born. The World Famous Hangover Trophy was played for the first time between Hove Rugby Club and the Robin Hood.

Several of the original players and organisers have now passed but the trophy lives on as the Val Hayes Memorial Trophy and is held every New Year's Day to raise funds for the Martlets Hospice.

This year is no exception and doors will open around 10:30 for a KO around 12:30. A possible U14 curtai raiser might happen - awaiting confirmation.

A DJ, a band and Karaoke are planned and we will add to the details when they are finalised.

*** I CAN CONFIRM THAT FANTASTIC LOCAL COVERS BAND "TONIGHT MATTHEW" https://www.facebook.com/tonight.matthew HAVE AGREED TO PERFORM AT THE HOT THIS YEAR - PROMISES TO BE A GREAT DAY - SEE SHARED POSTER FOR THEIR GIG ON 16th DECEMBER ***

Traditional rugby with rugby fun afterwards with a boat race to finalise the real victors!

ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE IS WELCOME and admission is free. The bar will be open all day and food will be available.

Shake off your cobwebs and get yourself down the Hove Rugby Club in the centre of Hove (2 minutes' walk from Hove Railway Station)
